Auckland Craniosacral Therapy

Release back pain & restore health – without manipulation

Manipulation-Free

Craniosacral is very gentle with no manipulation. If you are sensitive or in pain you are in safe hands.

Long Lasting

Craniosacral releases trauma from tissues at a deep level. This is a long lasting change.

Trauma Release

Craniosacral excels at trauma release. Trauma may be behind longer term pain & tension symptoms.

I had a skateboarding accident which impacted my sacrum, back and head. This resulted in chronic headaches, neck pain, back pain, ear-ache and tooth-ache.

Almost immediately and within the next 2 hours following my first Craniosacral Therapy session the effects were truly profound – my chronic headaches had dispersed and I felt a calm throughout my spine and back. I was able to sleep easy that night and no longer needed painkillers.

After the second treatment I experienced absolute release from the stress and trauma created from the accident and injury. Just 4 weeks after the injury I am now running, skateboarding and rock climbing again.  I am incredibly grateful and happy with the outcome.

What causes back pain?

Back pain can be from a number of causes, such as physical injuries, surgery, stress, illness or emotional issues. The cause of back pain is not always at the pain site itself, it can be the result of a tension pattern at a different area of the body. Tension patterns reduce movement and can result in the back becoming overworked & painful.

Craniosacral Therapy works on the whole body to release any tension and trauma patterns that may be behind back pain.

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a soft tissue treatment that works to release trauma & deep tension patterns in the body – often the cause of back pain. The practitioner uses very light contact to work with the craniosacral system – the inherent tissue movements of the body.

Places of contact are often the feet, head and sacrum (tailbone), but the therapist will work where it is most appropriate to address your issue. A typical treatment is usually around 40 minutes.

How Craniosacral helped my Back Pain

I have personal experience with back pain & headaches.  It’s how I first discovered Craniosacral Therapy.

I had lower back pain that would get worse every time I went windsurfing. I was seeing a chiropractor at the time, but it only gave short term relief and I needed to have continual  treatments. I ended up trying many different therapies while looking for relief including: Chiropractic, Osteopathy, Cranial-osteopathy & Physiotherapy.

Years later, when I couldn’t get a booking with an osteopath,  I stumbled on Craniosacral Therapy.  In the session I noticed a core stretching sensation that I had never experience before.  I noticed steady relief to my back pain in each session & for the first time I felt like I was getting somewhere. My pelvis was feeling much stronger and didn’t feel like it was out of place anymore.

(I also started to notice improvements to my headaches)

I was inspired to learn more & soon moved from Engineering to be a Craniosacral Therapist.
